This week, I have been mostly eating

Carrots!

I'm just over 17 months old.

Yesterday we went to the Toby Carvery and I stuffed myself on stuffing, yorkshire pudding, carrots, peas and broccoli. I now also love strawberrys, sometimes eat ice cream (although Mummy's milk is better) and enjoy swallowing plum stones....

Nursery is turning out alright, now I know who to badger for food and attention. They seem to leave me there for a day and a bit a week.

Nursery

For the last few weeks, Mummy and Daddy have been taking me to nursery (Daisy Chain on Broad Street). So far I'm spending a day and a half a week - Mummy says she uses the time to 'work' what ever that is.

I didn't like it much to start with - but lately it's been a lot of fun. Fern has been talking to me, the staff are very friendly and I often get sweet corn to eat for lunch (and yesterday I had lentil curry! Yum yum!)

No More Crawling?

Well over the weekend I've really cracked this walking lark, including being able to stand up on my own - without holding on to anything! I think I may not bother to crawl any more, except perhaps when I get tired or the ground is too rough.
My friends are going to get a bit of a surprise when they see me at soft play on Wednesday - last week I would only stand up in front of them, not walk :)

I can walk!

I've finally let Mummy and Daddy see me walk. They're very happy, but are talking about giving me reins - whatever they are? Perhaps they meant a Reindeer - like I saw at Hatton Country World yesterday?

Little Mimic

Although I haven't fancied having a go at that walking thing yet, I am doing all sorts of other fun things instead.

Mummy now thinks I can say "no", "this" and "that". I have to tell them what I do and don't want!

I'm also really good at copying actions. I can do all the actions for "Twinkle Twinkle" (although my diamond in the sky is really only half of one) and I can beep my nose (and other people's) when we do the wheels on the bus.

I'm ill

After a few days of tugging at my ear - the parents finally took the hint and took me to a hospital!

I'm now enjoying a new set of surroundings and milk on demand! Three cheers for mummy's boobs!

Words

Daddy thinks I know (and say) the following words :

* Yes
* No
* Dadda
* That
* Duck

However, above all :

* I must point at weird looking people.
* I must attract attention from strangers.
* I must display my cheeky face before causing trouble
* I must pretend to be an Andrex dog and eat the loo-paper.

And then go back to getting the parents to do 'hands-on-head', 'arms-up' and 'clap-clap'.

Snotty Boys and M-I-L-K

Mummy is quite glad I haven't learnt to pick my nose because today I am very snotty and full of cold. I've been grumpy and sleeping a lot but Mummy is also glad I haven't reverted to entirely breast milk yet as I keep nibbling on her as I can't latch very well when I can't breathe :(

Haircut sir?

Yesterday, the parents took me for my first haircut! Pictures to follow... perhaps. If I can get them past the censor(s).

Things I would like for Xmas and my Birthday

Mummy and Daddy keep talking about something called 'presents' and it seems like people are soon going to buy me some really funky toys!

I go to lots of shops, and see toys at our local childrens centre, and here are some ideas of things I'd like. If you decide to buy me anything, please let Mummy and Daddy know so they can take them off the list for other people. By the way, these are just ideas - I'm not a greedy baby and don't expect all these things!
